Schaeffler and Mike Rockenfeller at the Alpen-Spektakel
10 Oct,2018 The DTM in Spielberg - for the eighth time in a row, the Red Bull Ring is a spectacular stage. This coming weekend (22 to 23 September), it's back to Austria. Schaeffler driver Mike Rockenfeller appears confident.
Many ups and downs have Austria's most important racetrack - purely topographically, but also historically. Nowhere else will DTM drivers be confronted with such gradients as in Murtal in Styria. The former high-speed course with its uniquely idyllic Alpine flair was a political issue for years, was closed and sometimes even demolished. Especially in terms of increased safety for motorsport on two and four wheels, the mountain-and-valley railway on the outskirts of the municipality Spielberg was rebuilt several times. Today's track layout allows many overtaking maneuvers and usually delivers exciting races.
Long DTM tradition
Schaeffler has been involved in the DTM right from the start. Together with its product brands, the company supports drivers and teams with motorsport and technical know-how. Since 2011, the technology concern has been named after the Schaeffler-Audi and has already celebrated great success with two titles, among others. The DTM traditionally uses vehicles with internal combustion engines. With its innovative technologies and products for the automotive industry, Schaeffler also makes an important contribution to making combustors efficient and fit for tomorrow's mobility.
