AFA Industries launches Navistar in-frame overhaul kits

    AFA Industrieshas announced the availability of new Navistar in-frame overhaul kits for certain DT466E and DT530E engine applications.

    These kits include cylinder kits, rod and main bearings, upper gasket set with injectors, O-rings and oil pan gasket.

    Part Number N1888653C95 fits DT466E engines with S/N 1194039-up; 2000-2/2004 model years; 175, 195, 215 standard torque and 195, 215 high torque engines (175-215 HP).

    Part Number N1841902C97 fits DT530E/I530E engines with S/N 1194039-up; 2000-6/2004 model years; 300HP-up engines.

    AFA says benefits of its in-frame overhaul kits include: piston rings have a proprietary coating that reduces high heat scuffing and provides break-in protection; some specific applications feature high-strength forged steel pistons that have a special manganese phosphate coating to reduce wear and improves break-in performance on initial start-up; other applications call for high-strength cast aluminum pistons that are specially formulated alloys to decrease friction, promote better fuel economy and improve break-in performance; where specified, induction hardened liners provide strength and improved wear resistance; advanced alloy rod and main bearings provide enhanced durability; and AFA’s AFAGRAPH graphite cylinder head gasket, which features steel staked water jacket grommets, stainless steel fire rings and a graphite laminated rigid steel core providing superior sealing.

    Also available are cylinder, cooling system, valve train and fuel system components, water and oil pumps.
