ABB workers and company representatives have started today a new meeting to negotiate the Employment Regulation File (ERE) presented by the Swiss multinational. Under the intermediation of the Director General of Labor , ángel Allué, the firm's company committee trusts that this mediation expects an advance to occur so that there is no traumatic loss in the company.

This meeting takes place after the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno , showed yesterday willing to collaborate in the negotiation to avoid traumatic casualties in the company, which only in Córdoba amounted to 49 workers in the initial proposal.

Company and unions held their last negotiating meeting on Thursday of last week (it lasted until early Friday) without an agreement. The multinational's latest proposal includes a reduction of affected workers (49), who could be eligible for early retirement from age 55 or transfers to other company plants. ABB provides for the reduction of layoffs with relocations at the Zaragoza (10 transfers), Galindo (3) and Madrid or Córdoba (3) plants. Similarly, the creation of a maximum of 7 jobs with internalization processes that were outsourced is included.

In addition, ABB proposed that there be compensation of 50 days per year and 42 monthly payments , with a maximum of 150,000 euros and collects a linear payment of 4,000 euros. The proposal of the company foresees a term of affiliation of the workers from July 23 to July 29 at the Córdoba plant. In the absence of agreement yet, the unions requested the mediation of the Ministry of Labor, a meeting that is currently taking place.

From the company it was specified that they maintain their position of trying to "minimize" the impact on employment with the proposals they have submitted, although he stressed that the presentation of the ERE is due to the risk that the viability of the company is affected.

ABB is one of the historical industries of Córdoba , dedicated to the development of high power transformers. At present it has a workforce of 350 workers and its turnover amounted to 150 million euros in Cordoba in 2017.
